The peculiar memories

As human beings we go through different journeys of life. We meet new people, they leave us some time in our lives, some stay. The important thing is that they leave us with meaningful lessons of life and that they leave a mark in our lives. With this said I would like to go back to the stupid, little things that adds meaning to my life.

The Eastern Cape Captures...

This is our first post for the year 2012, yay..
I went to the Eastern Cape last year in December, I loved every minute I spent there. I always look forward to taking lots of pictures and interacting with the locals. Well but  taking pictures is the most part I enjoy..

There is just something about capturing the souls of other people in pictures that I cant even begin to describe, but what I know is it makes me happy :)

Who said the world was round

As people from the Free State, we've been mocked by people around from other parts of South Africa for the flatness of our land. They said Bloemfontein is so flat, one could even see right into the future. We love it though! This is our Fundi doing what she does best, and our flat land as seen in the background.
(picture taken from Bloemfontein's military museum)
and this here is a picture of one of those old street lamps from Bloemfontein's CBD.

Township Style continued

These are some of the pics taken from Bloemspruit, Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa. This is actually an old site which is now slowly fading away. Some parts of this township/suburb has now been changed to a new suburban township called Grasslands. These pictures represent what's left of the original township, let's take this is keeping record of historical architecture,site... important and those that are not so important.

Township Style....

These are some of the pictures I took in a Township called Namibia. I often go there to get some snaps, and this is what I got.
We've got nothing, and I mean nothing but Love for the Township.

Identities

Soon can never be soon enough. A while back I promised to post an image of a silk-screen project I was then busy with at varsity... I apologize for the delay. Well, with this project we were asked to create an image of broken metropolis landscapes, the theme just had to be playful. For some reason I ended up creating an image of Johhanesburg... Somehow I felt like I belong there as it is in the Province where I was born. However this for me seemed like a journey of tracing back my past and my origins. I realized that at some stage we all go through a phase of questioning ourselves of who we really are.
